The Little Neanderthals go back to Torre Pacheco (21/06/2018)

The mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio Leon and the Councilor for Tourism, Rosalía Rosique have presented the workshops "PEQUEÑOS NEANDERTALES", which from the Department of Tourism of the City of Torre Pacheco, are organized one more year, due to the success of past editions .

The workshops have the objective of transmitting to the small inhabitants of the municipality, our most remote origins.

It is about awakening their curiosity through activities appropriate to their age.

A workshop where children will move 50,000 years ago, hand in hand with Neanderthal Man, the main protagonist of our pre-history.

The activity will begin with a Children Guided Tour, where they will be explained how the Neandertal Man lived, how he hunted, how he managed to build a fire and where he lived.

For this, the facilities of the Exhibition Hall of the old Town Hall where a reproduction of the remains found in the Sima de las Palomas will be used.

In addition, a small excavation will be carried out in "El Cajón del Pequeño Arqueólogo".

After this visit the workshop will be held following the Neanderthal theme, coloring a mammoth, creating a fire, making a cave mural and Neanderthal clothing.

The activity will end with a Neanderthal Story Account.

Workshops will be held on July 5 and 19 and August 2 and 16 from 10 to 12 in the morning.

The workshop is aimed at children from 4 to 10 years old and is totally free.
