In order to publicize the causes, symptoms, treatment and complications associated with diabetes, and especially to increase global awareness of this disease, on November 14 and coinciding with the World Day of Diabetes has installed an information tent in front of the Diabetic Society of Torre Pacheco and its district, located in the Plaza Vicente Antón, during which throughout the day tests have been made free blood glucose and blood pressure to all residents who are They have approached, in addition to giving information about diabetes.
At the Torre Pacheco Day Center, there was an informative talk called "Together in the change of diabetes", by Dr. Florentina Rosique, Dr. Antonio Cózar, and Dr. Elisardo P. Roig, and Pedro Ureña, with the aim of raising awareness and publicizing healthy lifestyles, as well as tips to prevent Diabetes.
Conchi Martínez, Councilor of the City Council of Torre Pacheco, attended the talk "Together in the change of diabetes", and has carried out tests in the information tent;
supporting this initiative, which culminates in today, and which is one more of the actions that are carried out throughout the year to prevent diabetes, such as awareness campaigns and "Healthy Breakfasts" in the schools of the municipality.
World Diabetes Day is the most important diabetes awareness campaign in the world.
It was established by the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization in 1991, in response to the alarming increase in cases of diabetes in the world.
World Diabetes Day reminds us that the incidence of this serious condition is increasing and this trend will continue unless we take action now to prevent this enormous growth.
