Last Tuesday, November 20, at the Casa de la Radio of Torre Pacheco, the last session of the Training Program in Information and Communication Technologies took place;
a training initiative offered by the Fundación Ăntegra, the General Directorate of Information Technology, Heritage and Telecommunications of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and the City Council of Torre Pacheco, in which 14 people participated for free.
The Training, with a total of 24 hours, has been taught in the afternoon and has four sessions with the following contents:
- Discover the internet.
Free resources on the network.
- Internet helps you prepare trips.
- Learn to operate an Android Smartphone.
- Libreoffice Writer Word Processor.
The Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León valued the involvement of the participants in the course, and stressed the importance of this type of training much in demand by the elderly, which helps them to manage and learn about new information and communication technologies .
The main objective of this training action is to provide computer and technological knowledge to older people, who have difficulties in accessing new technologies, tools to put into practice in their daily lives, both for their leisure time, and to access certain processes, such as requesting a medical appointment, procedures with the Administration, communicating with relatives, consulting information on the Internet, etc.
León, stressed the importance of this initiative, in order to break barriers in the use of technology, pointing out that it is an activity highly valued positively by its users.
