The mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León, accompanied by the Councilor for Services and Public Road, Mari Carmen Guillén, along with members of the Municipal Corporation visited the plaza of the Church of Roldán, to inform the neighbors of the rehabilitation works that will be carried out in the area, an action included in the Financially Sustainable Investment Plan.
The rehabilitation works of the Plaza de la Iglesia de Roldan will begin on March 20 and has a budget of 133,469.48 euros, and as commented by the Councilor for Parks and Gardens, are works financed entirely by the City of Torre Pacheco , charged to the surplus of the year 2017.
The Councilor referred to this new area, as one of the demands most requested by residents, informing that this new space will house a children's playground, creating a more useful space since it currently has a very peculiar distribution.
The works will consist of the withdrawal of all the current trees, to later demolish the elevated area, in order to get the whole plaza is at the same level, also proceed to change the current pavement by one of granite.
It has also highlighted another of the actions that are going to be committed in this square, the creation of a children's meeting point, a park of 160 square meters, fully fenced, with security pavement and themed with a pirate ship, it will also have rockers , palm trees with swings and an informative panel with the rules of the park, as well as with telephones of interest.
In addition, from the children's area, a green space and shade with new trees will be created and all the furniture will be relocated.
Likewise, the square will have a new lighting with street lamps with LED system and a pergola between the church and the cafeteria.
