Crime in Torre Pacheco has declined in 2019 after the increase in Civil Guard personnel and coordinated action with the Local Police of the municipality (07/08/2019)

Francisco Jiménez undertakes to transfer to the Ministry of the Interior the request of the mayor of Torre Pacheco to increase the civil guard staff and invites citizens to report any crime or suspicion to guarantee citizen security.

The delegate of the Government, Francisco Jiménez, the mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León, as well as representatives of the neighborhood associations of the districts of Balsicas, the Jimenado, Roldán and Los Dolores, held a coordination meeting this morning on security, in which the state of crime and citizen security in the municipality have been evaluated.

In a climate of mutual understanding and collaboration, the Government delegate has highlighted the decrease in crime during the first seven months of this year, with a decrease in 90 criminal offenses compared to 2018. It is expected that with the recent incorporation of four new Civil Guard personnel, the data will improve even more.

Together, the current results show that the municipal security of the municipality has fallen to 34 crimes per thousand inhabitants, being four points below the regional average and seven national.

However, the delegate has pledged at the request of the mayor to request the incorporation of new troops to the Ministry of Interior.

It should be noted that of a staff of 54 civil guards, the post of Torre Pacheco currently has 53 troops.

For both policy makers it is important to intensify the collaboration between Civil Guard and Local Police, both in surveillance and in investigation, since the coordination between both bodies is providing excellent results for the benefit of the safety of the residents of the municipality.

Due to this positive development of security, Jiménez has invited the public to report any crime or suspicion by informing him of 062 or before the Local Police, so that the proceedings are immediate and thereby avoid further repercussions.

He has also invited to register in the mobile application "alertcops" that allows you to make complaints and report incidents to the Civil Guard and National Police.

Finally, he stressed that "the excellent coordination we have with the City Council and the willingness to help is proving very satisfactory to guarantee greater security, and therefore well-being for citizens."
