The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, through the Directorate General of Planning, Architecture and Housing, will continue to drive the urban renewal of the center of Torre Pacheco towards the north exit, area where a population of about 2,000 inhabitants reside.
This was said today the Director General of Planning, Architecture and Housing, Nuria Fuentes, after a meeting with the mayor, Antonio Leon, in the Town headquarters to analyze the situation Renewal Area and Urban Regeneration (ARRU) project which it was included in an agreement signed between the Ministry of Development, the Community and the City Council in December 2014, within the current Housing Plan.
The general director Nuria Fuentes reported that soon the Ministry of Public Works convene rehabilitation aids this ARRU corresponding to this annuity 2016, "in order to improve and renew the image of the streets included in this urban space in order to avoid progressive social and economic "isolation.
The scope of the ARRU of Torre Pacheco, Fuentes explained, "are the residential tissue areas and neighborhoods in the same process fi'sica, social or environmental degradacio'n, for what is intended recovery and rehabilitation of the oldest and dilapidated housing, which have become areas with a high i'ndice lease and are at risk of social exclusio'n ".
The regional government aims to improve the appearance of the neighborhood through some works for road recovery to be carried out uniformly maintaining existing types with a similar degree of homogeneity to generate orderly and with a unit este'tica urban fabric.
