The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Thomas Violante signed today with the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio Leon, the addendum to the agreement to pay attention to the day center for seniors.
The Ministry allocated 239,400 euros for municipal day center, which has 30 seats.
The agreement is valid until December 31 and the objective is to ensure the transportation and care of people who are treated at this center.
The Governing Council recently approved extensions of the collaboration agreements signed with several municipalities in the region, for the maintenance of 508 places for elderly dependents in day centers Moratalla, Totana, Fortuna, Puerto Lumbreras, Mula, San Pedro del Pinatar, Alhama, Cehegín, Yecla, Cartagena, Sewer, Torre Pacheco, Murcia, Beniel, Bullas and Ceuta.
Service day center is a suitable resource for elderly dependents, through which it seeks to promote a better quality of life and autonomy power and adequate conditions of living in their home environment and community partner.
In addition, to delay and in some cases prevents the entry in residential centers.
Thomas Violante said that "we are providing our seniors can be cared for in the best conditions in their own municipalities."
The entry into force of the Law on promoting personal autonomy and care for people in situations of dependency said a greater number of places in day care centers of its kind in several municipalities in the region, given the high number of requests for assessment dependence.
Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS) has an ongoing collaboration with local authorities to meet this demand.
In turn, the law includes the municipalities involved in the management of care services to people in situations of dependency, a provision that led to establish this collaboration.
