The Community earmarked a total of 4.5 million euros in the service of early attention 3.700 minors (18/04/2016)

The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Thomas, along with the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio Leon, today visited the day center for seniors who manages the Association for the Integration of Disabled del Mar Menor (Aidemar) and center day care and early Prometeo Association.

On this last service, the minister indicated that the Community is this year a total amount of 4.5 million euros to 32 early care centers, which provides care for 3,700 children with developmental disorders or risk of suffering as well as their families.

Currently, the region has a total of 32 early care centers through a network distributed among the 23 most populated municipalities, which bring together almost 90 percent of inhabitants.

Violante Thomas explained that his department is working on a new decree provides for the regulation of early attention to this service "is addressed globally, by transverse actions of the ministries of Health, Education and Family, through protocols coordination. "

The aim is to guarantee under six valuation, attention and funding of the squares.

The counselor explained that "we are very pleased by the extraordinary attention paid through associations like Prometheus to children up to six years who have developmental disorders or risk of suffering".

Early attention is individualized attention preventive and rehabilitative in nature, aimed both to children and to their family and social environment, through a planned intervention by an interdisciplinary team of professionals, coordinated with other resources.

Moreover, the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities funds in Torre Pacheco, with 330,154 euros, a total of 33 squares of the Prometeo Association to serve people with intellectual disabilities, and is expected to be expanded in 7 places more from in May, reaching 40.

Regarding the day center for the elderly, another resource of the Ministry in the town of Torre Pacheco, has 30 seats for dependents, funded by the Instituto Murciano Social Action (IMAS) with 239,400 euros.
