A total of 1,875 farmers have already attended courses professional users of plant protection products organized by the Directorate General of Food Innovation.
This training is in high demand since the entry into force of Royal Decree 1311/2012, which establishes the framework for action to achieve a sustainable use of pesticides by reducing the risks and effects of the use of such products on health human and environment.
According to regulations, any farmer may apply or dispense plant protection products if it is not available to the card that accredits him for it.
The Director General of Agrifood Innovation, Juana Mulero, attended today the start of the course held in the Integrated Training Center and Agricultural Experiences (CIFE) of Torre Pacheco.
The training lasts 25 hours and the content focuses on exposing the dangers in the application of plant protection products and measures to reduce the risks of such application.
The Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment has already made 77 courses in the CIFE Lorca, Molina de Segura, Jumilla and Torre Pacheco, and holds open the registration list.
It is expected that during the year participate in this training a total of 4,500 people.
In addition, to facilitate access to this training to all farmers who need it, the Directorate General has made an adaptation of the courses, with the aim of facilitating learning and acquiring knowledge necessary for obtaining license professional user of plant protection products baseline.
This adaptation has increased the quality of the training as the material is suitable to your needs, most advanced teaching aids and more attractive for students techniques are used.
Obtaining professional license user of plant protection products is one of the conditions required to access some assistance organized by the Ministry within the RDP 2014-2020.
