The Mayor of Torre-Pacheco, Antonio León accompanied by members of the Municipal Corporation, visited the planetarium that is located in the Municipal Library, until tomorrow 8 June.
The Councilor for Culture, Raul Lledó, wanted to thank the great work of "La Caixa" Social Work, with the implementation of initiatives such as this that make it possible to awaken in the smallest social, educational and above all values Their work, since with activities of this type, promote science and culture among the smallest.
More than 300 children enjoy this new and creative activity, where they attend a Planetarium session with two parts, a general in which students become familiar with the sky that can be observed from our latitude, learning to recognize the main constellations And also learn to orient themselves using the stars, discovering the meaning of the ecliptic and the zodiac.
Then the students have enjoyed the story of "the girl who knew how to walk backwards", discovering with her the secrets of the Moon, listening to the tides and enjoying watching the stars.
Starting today, at night, when the elementary school pupils of the municipality raise their eyes, they will see much more than a starry sky.
