As an act of closure of the activities carried out to mark the 150th anniversary of the Town Hall Square, which began on September 17, "Day of the Municipality", the installation of a time capsule has been installed, which has been buried in the square with the forecast to be opened on December 21, 2067, coinciding with the celebration of its 200th anniversary.
The Mayor of Torre-Pacheco, Antonio Leon said that with this program of events to mark the 150th anniversary of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, organized by the Department of Culture and the Municipal Archive has been intended to convey the importance of this landmark for pachequeros over the years
Act of great significance for fulfilling two main objectives: the first as a testimony of the value of this great square for the citizens of Torre-Pacheco, witness of the most important events since its configuration on December 21, 1867;
the second is to create a communication bridge with the pachyqueros of 2067, and in this way be able to be present with everything that has been carefully stored in the time capsule.
Many people have participated in the activities carried out during these three months, in which culture, history and art have been predominant;
Today in this act we have buried a capsule full of dreams and good wishes addressed to the pachequeros of the future.
In this capsule of time, photographs, newspapers, coins, letters, and different objects have been introduced that they intend to show to the pachequeros of 2067, such as Torre-Pacheco in 2017.
