The Mayor of Torre Pacheco receives members of fit Project 50 (13/12/2011)

This morning the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Daniel García Madrid, has welcomed the members of the project 'Employability and Health Prevention of long-term unemployed people "(50-FIT), in which the City participates in Torre-Pacheco as a partner, is led by the Association for the Study and Promotion of Social Welfare and has been supported Probens under the DG Call EAC/31/08, promoted by the DG Education and Culture of the European Commission in the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme.

The project promotes the development and dissemination of innovative practices related to the improvement of lifelong learning and employability among unemployed people over 45 years of long duration.

Specifically, the goal is to gather and present material and methods of teaching and learning, models of good practices and personal experiences related to the inclusion of health prevention in the process of training and (re) integration into the labor market of long-term unemployed.

The project partnership includes 10 agencies and organizations from 5 European countries.

It is a heterogeneous group consisting of nonprofit associations, training organizations, a consultant and a local authority whose common goal is social inclusion and employment of people and groups at risk of exclusion:

- The activities carried out in the project by the City Council through IMSAS staff include:

1.

Creating a network of experts and partners in order to integrate local policies insertion prevention and health promotion to health led to the group of long-term unemployed over 45 years.

2.

Needs Analysis: Research based on secondary sources about the health of the unemployed (older) long-term sociological profile, about models and best practices in Europe regarding prevention for the health of long-term unemployed time.

3.

Based on this analysis, preparation by each partner, a separate module for a specific target group.

4.

Test and evaluation of the module, with the collaboration of professionals in the Health Center West.

5.

Preparation of a compendium of best practices in improving both health prevention in the formation of long-term unemployed and their continuous learning and re-entering the labor market.

6.

Dissemination of knowledge and coordination visits and monitoring.

7.

Presentation of the activities carried out in the Project for the Municipality of Torre Pacheco in the European Employment Forum held in Brussels on 22 and November 23, 2011.

- Finally, with respect to meeting the objectives and the results obtained to date, we can highlight:

a) It has established a stable working network that facilitates the exchange of experiences among ten organizations involved in social and labor integration of persons at risk of exclusion.

b) has been incorporated prevention and health promotion pathways to integration of a group of 12 long-term unemployed people over 45 years living in the municipality.

To do this, with the collaboration of health professionals (doctors, nurses and physiotherapists) Health Center "Antonio Cózar" Torre Pacheco, has taught in the classroom to the Centre multipurpose module, a health promotion, by which have been trained and sensitized to this group of unemployed people in the town about the importance of prevention in order to improve their levels of employability.

c) It has developed a compendium of best practices around the integration of the field of health plans in the insertion of long-term unemployed over 45 years, which aims to help improve the chances of labor market entry this group.

This compendium includes the analysis by each of the partners involved and the experiences of each of them.
