The Director General of Tourism, Enrique Ujaldón, chaired today the quality committee of the Network of Tourist Offices in the Region of Murcia, which analyzed data from the summer.
Ujaldón said the aim of the committee is "to improve coordination between the offices for that is all the information that the traveler regional tourism needs in all of them."
According to data provided by the 25 offices included in the network, and data from all tourist information points, the number of services provided in the tourist offices last year increased by 13.05 percent compared to 2011 .
Thus, the report shows that during the second quarter of the year requested information totaling 165,328 people, compared to 146,240 in 2011.
The detail on the origin of visitors who passed through these offices during the summer 2012, a 35.79 percent comes from other communities, 34 percent of foreign countries and 29.77 percent of the region.
As for the origin of international tourism, tourism English represents nearly 45 percent of all foreigners, the French represent 17.82 percent and 8.49 percent German.
