Pedro Antonio Sánchez visit in Torre Pacheco works Knowledge Centre and Creativity that promotes youth employment (04/09/2013)

The Minister of Education, Universities and Employment, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Daniel García Madrid, today visited the works of the Knowledge Centre and Creation (Cecocre) of the municipality, which promotes youth employment, and are developing 37 young unemployed people under 25 years while learning a trade.

The Job Holder said that "such actions contribute to young people entering the job market in a more efficient, so we will increase them and promote them to the Youth Employment Plan".

The initiative is a joint program of training and employment in which young people are trained as bricklayers, electricians, painters and gardeners as well as develop a job on behalf of the municipality, such as the rehabilitation of the old school Our Lady of the Rosary and activties for the Cecocre shelter, a space for culture, knowledge and creativity that will accommodate cultural associations and groups, social and youth.

Sanchez said, "With this initiative we provide opportunity to 37 young people for professional qualifications, with a developing theoretical and paid internships that enable them to better access to the labor market or start their own business. Benefit from this action they themselves and all the inhabitants of Torre Pacheco, who see their work contributes to improve municipal infrastructure. "

Along with the teachings themselves in masonry trades, painting, gardening and electricity, the 37 participants in the project are getting computer skills, career counseling and job placement, self-employment and small business development, risk prevention and first aid, and English classes as well as additional training for obtaining compulsory secondary education.

This program being developed by the City Council during the last two years has a contribution of Regional Employment and Training (SEF) of one million euros.

In addition, the Ministry has funded other training initiatives for unemployed with the City as accounting management courses, childhood education assistant, English and French commercial management to the public.

Youth Employment Plan

The Ministry of Education, Universities and Employment has launched a new joint program of employment and training which will benefit 410 unemployed initial form, which will facilitate a professional qualification with theoretical and practical training of effective work.

This initiative, part of the Youth Employment Plan, has a budget of 1.8 million euros and is aimed at employment of jobless people, especially young people under 25 without work experience.
