The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, announced this morning that the Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs (MARM), through the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS), was published in the Official Gazette of the tender the renovation and channeling the stretch of river located between the Diversion Channel and the Rambla de San Cayetano, in the municipality of Torre Pacheco.

The base budget amounts to 359,414.29 euros contract and the execution time is 4 months old.

This project, part of the Special State Fund for Promoting the Economy and Employment, will solve the problems caused in this area due to lack of proper water drainage when rain falls in a certain importance, which aims to improve drainage existing in the village of San Cayetano, at the request of the City of Torre-Pacheco.

In this hamlet is the Rambla de San Cayetano, recently channeled, which lead to different channels of varying importance.

In one of them, which is to act, preparation was made partially, to its mouth being about three hundred feet without conditioning.

In this section, the Promenade, which is not on track, and even gets to have some counter-slope, crosses a road in the hamlet (Avileses way) through the drainage work is insufficient, and is currently partially terrified to loose materials , so that the downstream hydraulic section is reduced.

This causes major disruption in the area, which is why the immediate need of it.

Channeling and preparation of this channel will run northwest of San Cayetano and extends from the Diversion Channel to the mouth in the Rambla de San Cayetano, in an approximate length of 300 meters.

The works include general clearing and demolition of the existing masonry that interferes with the channel, the general conditioning, running the concrete slab with wire mesh and slopes with stone pitching, and access, reinstatement of services, and all ancillary works .

The CHS will repair the runway clearing the land itself, and the protection of the slopes with stone pitching.

It also intends to demolish an existing masonry, over which runs a regional road, replacing it with one of greater hydraulic capacity, equipped with stone pitching fins.

The project area can be divided into two sections: the first section runs from the shipping channel-channel Campo de Cartagena to its intersection with the street and the second tranche from its intersection with the street to its mouth on the promenade of San Cayetano.

In the first stage, we retained the existing channel width, while in the second leg because you have a narrowing, the width is increased, coinciding with the stretch and executed.

To cause minimal visual impact and to continue with the existing channel section is planned to run a trapezoidal concrete hearth and slopes mesh stone pitching.

The slopes have a coating thickness of 40 cm., The slab width of 5.00 meters and draft of 1.73 meters (measured at the edge of the section).

As step Avileses Road, which currently passes through three concrete pipes of 800 mm in diameter, will be proposed as drainage work two precast concrete frames 2 meters wide and 1.5 meters high, in that its lateral fins resulting pitching of stone, similar to crossing the channel upstream of the transfer.

For reasons of better maintenance and conservation of the work by the way, was chosen as the type of work in front of the tube part concrete.

Besides the works described above, are included in the proposed additional works required to refund and replacing affected areas improved pavements, sidewalks, pipes, rails, barriers and easements in general have been damaged by reason of the works.

Also included the lifting of the flush section of road that intersects with the channel, as well as improving the current mouth of the Rambla de San Cayetano, as it will increase the current section, placing a rockfill pitching in hearth and similar to the existing slopes.
