The City Council of Torre Pacheco will request the public company ADIF the urgent adaptation of the surroundings of the Torre Pacheco Railway Station.
The measure, at the proposal of the Town Planning Councilor of Torre Pacheco, Alberto Galindo, was approved in the plenary session of April with the approval of all the political groups.
The Railway Station, currently classified as a protected element of grade 3 according to the Municipal Urban Planning, requires some work of rehabilitation and conditioning.
According to Galindo, the current image of the railway station is not what a municipality like Torre Pacheco deserves, adding that it gives an image of abandonment and desolation, which is compounded by the lack of lighting in the station, which creates a sensation of insecurity for passengers and neighbors.
For the councilman of Urbanism, we are before a station surrounded by weeds in which we must add the dilapidated state of the historic warehouse of merchandise, and that needs an urgent rehabilitation and its value.
Galindo reiterated that in the Municipal Plenary Session in April, an agreement was adopted to require the Administrator of Railway Infrastructures (ADIF) of the Ministry of Development to urgently adapt and rehabilitate the surroundings of the Torre Pacheco Railroad Station, as well as the rehabilitation of all the elements that are part of your property.
As well as, to transfer this agreement to the Ministry of Public Works, to the Eastern Conventional Network Delegation (ADIF), to the Albacete Maintenance Headquarters (ADIF) and to the Government Delegation in the Region of Murcia.
