The night of last Friday, May 11, was the great chupinazo of the beginning of the festivities in Los Meroños, organized by the Neighborhood Association and the collaboration of the City Council of Torre Pacheco, managing to gather more than 300 people in the exterior of the Local Social , with a massive barbecue and the performance of FILIÚ y Cía that came to animate an activity that was held for the first time in this hamlet, in addition to the choice of the couple of the year that fell to Juan Antonio Almagro and Mari Carmen Tardido.
In the afternoon, children's games had already been developed, with music and surprises by PIRULETA.
At 8:00 pm the exhibition of old photographs was inaugurated, in homage to the famous neighbor RAFAEL BAEZA, recently deceased and who had the presence of his relatives, as well as the mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León Garre, accompanied by Mrs. Councilman of Celebrations and other members of the Local Government Team, together with the mayoress-pedáneo Eva MªRodríguez.
Throughout this week will be held the scheduled events, highlighting the performance of Josema Bey, the 2nd Exhibition of Classic Vehicles for this Saturday, May 19, along with the theatrical performance of "The Escaloncito" by the local group of Meroños .
On Sunday, May 20, the festivities will end with the traditional morning pilgrimage and the procession and mass in the afternoon in honor of San Isidro Labrador.
