The mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León accompanied by the President of the Association of Residents of Roldán, Antonio Cañavate, and by the vice president of the Civic Cultural Association of Roldán José Martínez, has presented the fifth edition of the Fiesta de la Trilla, in honor to San Isidro Labrador, as well as, the second Ethnocultural Days, that try to make visible the inherited cultural, historical and ethnographic patrimony, activities that are celebrated in Roldán the days 19, 20, 26 and 27 of May.
In addition, the councilors of Culture and Celebrations, Raúl Lledó and Yolanda Castaño, respectively;
and the mayor of the town, Manuel Morodo, among other members of the Corporation.
The Fiesta de la Trilla faithfully recreates environments and works of the past, around the work of the field that was traditionally done: mowing, threshing, etc.
A party that aims to rescue our identity, and recreate the traditions and history of our town, a unique opportunity to enjoy a few days of celebration and tribute to the men and women of the countryside.
The Feast of the Trillage revolves around the Casa Museo del Labrador, with the most outstanding events in this threshing party: the exhibition of traditional threshing work, concentration of antique vehicles, a market of traditional crafts, folk music, to be able to visit the Casa-Museo del Labrador, where you can see many farm implements, tools, etc.
Of course and as it could not be otherwise, gastronomy is also present in these festivals, visitors can enjoy various tastings, migas, michirones, boiled potatoes, fried cakes, sweet flowers, in short a selection of dishes that recall the time of "La Trilla".
An extensive and varied program of recreational activities that are complemented with the realization on Saturday, May 19, of the II Ethnocultural Conferences: Putting value on an inherited heritage.
Some conferences that seek the recovery, conservation, protection and enhancement of those elements of rural heritage that are subject to risk of disappearance, destruction or alteration of their values, in order to highlight the historical, cultural and ethnographic value of the goods members of the popular culture of the region of Campo de Cartagena, in which the municipality of Torre Pacheco is located.
It is intended to promote the disclosure of heritage and enhance the informative task of the importance of protecting, recovering and enhancing a rich and varied heritage linked to the municipality of Torre Pacheco and, undoubtedly, is its hallmark and inheritance from its most remote past.
A Heritage that reflects the agricultural and livestock activities as main axes of the traditional economy of our area;
very particular customs and uses that made up the life of our ancestors and that constitutes a way of recovering lost traditions.
This is a conference in which it is intended to combine the academic side, through the various conferences and issues that will be raised by university experts and scholars in the field as heritage technicians, with a profile more accessible to the public in general, through parallel activities.
The conferences that will take place on Saturday, May 19, bring together well-known specialists in the study of tangible and intangible heritage with the aim of promoting the dissemination of the heritage of the Campo de Cartagena region, and more specifically of Torre Pacheco, and thus Encourage the population about the importance of protecting, recovering and enhancing, as well as disseminating, a rich and varied heritage linked to the municipality of Torre Pacheco and which undoubtedly highlights its identity and its past.
The mayor has finished his speech by encouraging neighbors to participate and enjoy the events and events scheduled for the festivities of La Trilla 2018.
