Continue to modernize the communications infrastructure.
With this objective, the Torre-Pacheco City Council has awarded the management contract for virtual workstations to the proposal presented by Telefónica that maximizes performance and reduces costs.
The commitment of both parties will last for the next 12 months and the total amount of the service will amount to 66,281,367 euros.
Carlos López, councilor of Hacienda de Torre-Pacheco, and José Manuel Plaza, director of Public Administrations of Telefónica in the Region of Murcia, Catalonia, Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands, have held a meeting this morning at City Hall to review all the details.
To implement the new system, the telecommunications company will replace the current infrastructure of 150 individual virtual desktops with a shared solution.
"The infrastructure will allow sharing servers for multiple users, with this deployment it maximizes control and performance and simplifies administration by considerably reducing the number of virtual machines to be managed," said Plaza.
The information of the work sessions of the 150 positions will be housed in the Data Center of Alcalá de Henares in Madrid.
For the consistory, the advantages of Telefónica's proposal are clear: savings in maintenance and property costs, greater security and a unique and centralized program update system.
In addition, in the event of a migration of the software or the operating system, enabling new applications, Telefónica's infrastructure allows these operations to be carried out at once in all virtual workstations, saving time and implementation costs.
Also, the system proposed by the telecommunications company allows to use Windows desktops and applications in any device and place, with a more efficient, secure and flexible management.
In this sense, thanks to the Telefónica service, the workers of the consistory will be able to access their work from any device and place.
In this way, a problem with the device does not imply that the worker is inoperative since he can change his computer, or access from a tablet or mobile phone with all the information at his disposal.
