The Municipal Police of Torre Pacheco has received in the last few days, several incidences about WhatsApp messages.
The scam consists of sending WhatsApp messages mainly to women, where they are informed that they have been registered in a contact page and that to unsubscribe they must call the telephone number that appears in the message.
The Local Police after checking the facts with CNP and PGC has verified that the contact number is from Colombia, so once the call is made the number is registered and used to make international calls, with the consequent increase in the telephone bill of the affected person without her having knowledge of the realization of the call.
At other times, attempts are made to blackmail the caller with alleged intimate photos or compromised conversations.
The Local Police of Torre Pacheco warns affected people that they do not make any calls, if they receive any message or WhatsApp of these characteristics or similar
