This year, on the occasion of the Day of the Municipality 2018, the City Council of Torre Pacheco pays tribute, on the centenary of its birth, to which Torrejón Pacheco, Joaquín Ferrándiz Gutiérrez, was the Chronicler of Torre Pacheco.
The Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio Leon, members of the Municipal Corporation, relatives, friends and neighbors have attended the one that has been an endearing and emotional event held on Saturday afternoon, September 15, in the Plenary Hall of the City Council of Pacheco Tower
During the tribute ceremony, the publication "150 years of living stories: Anniversary of the Town Hall Square" was presented, which, as a chronicle, develops the activities carried out last year on the occasion of such an outstanding event.
Then, a social gathering was held about Joaquín Ferrándiz, in which Antonio León, mayor of Torre Pacheco, participated;
José Sánchez, vice president of the Association of Chroniclers of Murcia and Official Chronicler of Cartagena;
Rafael Pérez, exinterventor of the City of Cartagena, a work colleague and friend of Joaquín Ferrándiz;
Rogelio Sánchez, student of Ferrándiz of his time as a teacher in Roldán;
and Fulgencio Saura, ex-secretary of the City Council of Totana and Cronista de Alcantarilla y Fortuna, partner and friend of the honoree, who has not been able to attend, but has participated by sending a letter about Ferrándiz that has been read by the Councilor for Culture, Raúl Lledó.
Finally, the daughter of Joaquín Ferrándiz, Charo Ferrándiz and her granddaughter, Laura, have thrilled those present, with the most personal and familiar vision of the honoree.
In addition, a photographic and documentary exhibition "Chronicle of a Life" has been inaugurated, an exhibition that covers the life of the Chronicler through family photographs and documents from the Municipal Archive.
