Last Friday, a training session on energy efficiency was held for the technical staff of Social Services to launch a specific program to fight against energy poverty in our municipality.

Undoubtedly, the presence of families and people who have serious difficulties in coping with the payment of basic household supplies, such as electricity, gas and water, requires a response from the public authorities since the lack of can affect the quality of life, dignity and health of people.

With this project, the City Council of Torre Pacheco aims to improve the living conditions of the families living in the municipality by initiating actions to reduce the effects of energy poverty by preventing situations of marginalization and social exclusion.

These actions are aimed at supporting people and families in the payment of basic supplies, thus guaranteeing access to electricity, water and gas in the usual home.

In addition, actions aimed at improving energy efficiency, saving and consumption of basic household supplies will also be financed through the granting of economic aid for the purchase of household appliances that improve energy efficiency and responsible consumption of the basic supplies of the household. home.

Training workshops will be developed in Torre Pacheco and districts designed to raise awareness among families and incorporate habits related to energy saving, such as optimizing the contracted services, how to understand invoices, maintaining the home at optimum temperature, the use of efficient appliances ...

This project will be carried out by the municipal social services where any interested person may request information about the requirements, amounts and procedure for the granting of these aids.
