The Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio Leon, and the Councilor for Social Services and Equality, Veronica Martinez, have held a meeting with the Board of Pensioners Club of El Jimenado, which has also assisted City Council, Environment and Agriculture , and neighbor of El Jimenado, Alberto Galindo.
The Mayor and the President of the Association, Leonardo Jiménez, have signed an agreement whereby they commit themselves to collaborate in the promotion of activities with the elderly in the locality.
The purpose of this agreement is the granting of a nominative grant for the maintenance of the activities of the Pensioners and Retired Club "Virgen de la Consolación" of El Jimenado.
The economic contribution of this agreement amounts to 1,700.- €.
In addition to this economic subsidy, from the Department of Social Services, collaborates with the Association through the organization of cultural and leisure activities, sports, health, and especially with management, information and advice on topics of interest to the greater.
The Association of Pensioners of El Jimenado, the youngest in the municipality, has been functioning since 1996, and currently has about 400 members, being located in the Multipurpose Center of this town.
