The Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León and the President of the Association, Francisco Soto, have signed an agreement whereby they undertake to collaborate in the promotion of activities with the elderly in the town.
The object of the agreement is the granting of a subsidy for its program of activities.
As for the economic contribution amounts to 9,500.- €.
In addition to this economic subsidy, from the Department of Social Services, collaborates with the Association through the organization of cultural and leisure activities, sports, health, and especially with management, information and advice on topics of interest to the greater.
The Association of Pensioners was created in 1980, and currently has about 1,200 members and with a large and varied schedule of activities throughout the year, in addition to having facilities appropriate to their needs.
The Mayor, accompanied by the Councilor for Social Services and Equality, Veronica Martinez, after signing the agreement, have held a meeting with the Board of Pensioners Club, to see first hand their needs and demands.
