On Saturday, November 24, the Plenary Session of the Municipal Council for Children and Adolescents was held in the Plenary Hall of the City Council.
The ceremony was chaired by the Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León Garre, and the Councilors of the Corporación Juan Salvador Sánchez Saura, of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party, Francisco Cánovas Martínez, of the Popular Party, and Mrs. Inmaculada Concepción Martínez also participated. , of the Independent Party of Torre Pacheco.
Twenty-five of the 28 members of the Board that make up the Board this 2018-2019 academic year participated in this session.
There are twelve children and sixteen girls between ten and fifteen years of age, all of them chosen by their own classmates between the last two years of Primary Education and the first two years of Secondary Education.
Sixteen new councilors and councilors took office and elected the President, Laureano Ros Bleda, of the Concert Center Virgen del Pasico, and the Vice-President, Héctor Jorquera Gómez, of the IES Gerardo Molina.
During the Plenary the answers of the Councilor for Agriculture, Urbanism and the Environment were read to the recommendations and proposals on the Environment agreed by the Council in the Plenary on June 2.

The central theme of the Plenary of the Council was the reading and approval of a series of proposals, prepared by the students of the Educational Centers, around Leisure and Culture in Torre Pacheco:
First: "Creation of spaces for culture and leisure";
Second: "Increase in cultural offer";
Third: "Creation of a Library Club";
Fourth: "Promotion of the cinema";
Fifth: "Promotion of free internet access";
Sixth: "Approaching the radio to schools";
Seventh: "Promotion of museums in Torre Pacheco";
Eighth: "Artistic decoration of the surroundings of the school garden".
Finally, the Councilors chose Bullying as a topic to be addressed by children in the Educational Centers during the second quarter of the 2018-2019 academic year.
Once the problems and proposals for improvement in this matter have been debated and agreed upon in each Center, the main proposals will be presented and voted on at the next Council Plenary.
