The Department of Social Services and Equality of the Municipality of Torre Pacheco, has initiated a novel project of Prevention of Drug Addiction aimed at young people and developed by the Foundation Institute of Free Intelligence.
The "Stay Tuned" project is aimed at high school students, distributed in six educational centers: IES Gerardo Molina, CCE Virgen del Pasico, CCE Pasico II;
IES Sabina Mora, IES Luis Manzanares and CEPEIBas Nª Señora de Los Dolores
The program began on November 13 at the IES Gerardo Molina and is scheduled to conclude in the spring of 2019.
Among its objectives are: knowing the risks and the physical, psychological and social consequences of tobacco, alcohol and cannabis use, as well as developing skills and tools to respond assertively to situations of group and social pressure.
The most innovative aspect of this prevention program is that, through the creation by the students of advertising spots, a "virtual space" will be created as an intervention with the adolescent population in its code and communication channel, so that it will be generated greater impact and social transcendence for the municipality.
As an act of closure, a Broadcasting Gala of all advertising spots will be held.
For the Councilor for Social Services and Equality, Verónica Martínez Marín, "this project provides a very attractive methodology for young people when using ICTs, which facilitates the development of negative attitudes towards the consumption of drugs and other substances harmful to health".
