The Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León, accompanied by the Vicar of Area, David Robles, members of the Municipal Corporation, and neighbors, has inaugurated the Municipal Bethlehem, donated by PROMETEO, and assembled by volunteers from the Department of Volunteering and Festivities and by members of Civil Protection.
The Mayor thanked the president of Prometeo, Ascensión Méndez, the transfer of the Bethlehem to the City Council of Torre Pacheco, and congratulated the volunteers for the great work done;
Then the Vicar proceeded to the blessing of the Municipal Bethlehem.
The opening ceremony was enlivened with carols and traditional songs performed by the Rondalla Virgen de los Dolores of Dolores de Pacheco, and by the Ntra. Sra. Del Rosario de Torre-Pacheco Choir and Dance Association, ending with a chocolate tasting hot and sponge cake prepared by the Cultural Association Pilar Antón.
The traditional Bethlehem collects multiple mysteries of the Nativity, having as a thread the municipality of Torre Pacheco.
The visitor can see a Cabezo Gordo that houses Herod's palace, and the presentation of a Child in a temple that reproduces the Hermitage of El Pasico, next to a mill.
