The Feminist Assembly of the Region of Murcia has expressed its rejection of the macho murder of Lourdes Mantilla, which took place in Torre Pacheco, and expresses its solidarity with her family in the face of such a dramatic event.
He stressed that this is the first death that inaugurates the figures of shame in our Region, and that he expects the public authorities to fulfill their mission to prevent and act with force in the face of such cruel and unjust actions.
The constituent organizations of the Assembly have expressed their concern because they consider that this harsh reality occurs while some political options question gender violence and dare to denominate "ideological law" to the regulations that fight against these machista acts.
They have come to raise their future cancellation, something that would not be ruled out if it were in their hands to adopt such a decision.
As if the attack on constitutional rights, which include the defense of the integrity of people, was not enough, these political groups have dared to question the need for the psychosocial teams of workers of the Integral Assessment Units of Gender Violence in the Courts of Family and Children of Andalusia, dedicated to assess the risk suffered by victims of sexist violence, the possibility of recidivism and who should have custody of minors.
For the Feminist Assembly it is essential that the different political options express their position clearly before the sexist violence, and state if among their priorities is the defense of women or the arithmetic of power.
Consider how responsible are those who denigrate the victims, as those who look in another direction while these attacks against women, because with their attitude are also questioning the democratic system.
On the other hand, this Assembly recalls that gender violence is exercised over women because they are women, regardless of their origin, religion, age or any other circumstance.
Finally, he recalled that feminists are united to curb machista ideologies and fight with total determination to avoid a single step back in the fight against male barbarism.
