The delegate has transmitted a message of tranquility and confidence
The government delegate, Francisco Jiménez, has confirmed the upcoming incorporation of four new agents to the barracks of the Civil Guard of Torre Pacheco to strengthen the surveillance and prevention measures already initiated by the Government Delegation in the face of the surge in robberies experienced in the month April in the town and its districts.
Jiménez received this morning the mayor of the town, Antonio León, and local representatives of Torre Pacheco and the districts of Roldán, Balsicas, El Jimenado and Dolores de Pacheco, who demanded an increase in security measures that would alleviate the local discomfort and the feeling of insecurity.
The delegate of the Government has transferred their understanding for the concern expressed, but at the same time, wanted to convey a message of calm and confidence in the excellent work done by Civil Guard in coordination with the Local Police.
"The conversations with the mayor are daily and he knows perfectly well that the Civil Guard is investigating and that there will be arrests soon related to this rebound of robberies.
In addition, I have communicated both to the neighbors and to the mayor himself that we are going to reinforce the surveillance with patrols of citizen security and ROCA groups specialized in the prevention and fight against thefts in the countryside ", explained Jiménez.
The incorporation of new agents will be effective from June, which will contribute, said the delegate, to improve crime statistics, which, despite everything, are normal and even lower compared to other years.
"It is very important to have citizen collaboration to alert agents of possible crimes or suspects and, above all, to report the thefts that occur, because, in the first quarter of this year, criminal offenses have fallen in Torre Pacheco 28.93% compared to the same period of 2018, and Roldán and Balsicas have only increased in four and nine crimes respectively ", the Delegate detailed.
The incorporation of these four agents will considerably strengthen the catalog of troops in the barracks, which was already 91% coverage, well above the national average.
Finally, Jiménez has recommended the use of Alertcops application by the Ministry of the Interior, a direct, effective, close and discreet tool that, in case of danger, allows instant communication with Civil Guard and National Police.
