The mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León and the councilor of Fiestas, Yolanda Castaño together with the president of the Association of Historical Celebrations of Torre Pacheco, Juana Hernández, and the secretary of the Association, Theodore Fructuoso have presented the Festival of Trinitarians and Berbers.
Likewise, it has proceeded to the signing of the collaboration agreement between the City Council of Torre Pacheco and the Association of Historical Celebrations of Torre Pacheco, for which the Association receives an economic contribution of 15,000 euros, to collaborate in the organization and celebration of the XXV Trinitarian Festivities of Torre Pacheco, from the year 2019.
Some festivals that celebrate its 25th edition and that recall the feared Berber incursions that attacked the shores of the Mar Menor and the Campo de Cartagena during the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries and made it difficult to settle in this area.
A festival with its own identity, in which the importance and value of our history is recognized, as a living symbol of the origins of our people.
The Councilor of Celebrations, has highlighted the commitment to transmit to the new generations, the facts that endorse and consolidate the history of our town and region, informing of the realization in the schools of Torre Pacheco of representations in which it is explained to the most young people, the origins of this our town, at the same time as they are invited to be part of the Children's Parade.
For its part, Fructuoso has detailed the various events and shows that on May 31, June 1 and 2 will delight neighbors and visitors of the municipality of Torre Pacheco;
highlighting what are undoubtedly the most important Acts and emblem of these Festivals, the "Grand Berber Trinity Act" that is celebrated on Friday, May 31, and the "Trinitario Berberisco Parade" on Saturday, June 1.
In addition, this year to mark the 25th anniversary of the Fiestas, a Twinning Act will be held between the Berber Raids of the Mar Menor "Los Alcázares" and the Trinitario-Berber Fiestas of Torre Pacheco, on Saturday at 11 in the morning.
We will also have the Medieval Market, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, as well as the Ruta del Pincho Trinitario-Berberisco, animation and music activities throughout the weekend.
