Geocaching is an activity focused on finding hidden objects in a place.
So, every time you move to look for one of these objects, you also discover a new corner, its environment, its people, its history ..., not only because you are there seeing and experiencing it, but because each hidden treasure includes a link in the website of the game, which can provide information or historical, geological, and biological data about the place that is being visited.
The City Council intends with this activity, to offer both the local community and visitors to the area, the opportunity to discover Torre Pacheco through this new form of tourism.
From the Department of Tourism, is working to get the municipality of Torre Pacheco, is a reference in the Geocaching Murciano, since with this joint work, allows us to raise the possibilities of the game to infinity, where the street furniture can be part of the hidden object, allowing its location in unusual places.
The Acting Mayor, Antonio León, together with Irene Gómez, representative of the Geocaching Association of Levante, presented the activities of Geopacheco 2019, accompanied by Tourism Techniques and Geocachers.
The activity in its third edition takes place during the last weekend of June, with a varied program of activities for geocachers, in addition there are three types of activities, some located at the venue of the event, the accreditation center, of a promotional nature and ludic, which allow at the same time to be in contact with the rest of the attendees and with the organization;
and other cultural activities, which will allow a better knowledge of the locality, as well as places that confer identity to this enclave;
and finally, sports-leisure activities, focused on the most dynamic attendees.
For the participation in the event, prior registration is required in the different activities.
All activities are free.
An extensive program of activities that take place on Friday, June 29, beginning at 9 in the morning with an act of welcome, checking, and then inflatables, talk with reviewers, pintacaras, Taller Juego "El Rey Paparajote" and tastings at the Public Library of Torre Pacheco;
and from 8:00 pm at the Paraje de El Pasico, Flash Mob and special cache, awards ceremony, Gala Dinner and Wherigo Night Theater.
As a novelty, this year the organization will dedicate a new cache to each person registered in the event, therefore, each cache of the route will take the avatar and Nick of each one of the participants, in strict order of Will Attend (Attend).
