The Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León and Councilman Raúl Lledó have presented the "SMALL NEANDERTALES" Children's Workshops, which from the Department of Tourism of the Torre Pacheco City Council, are organized one more year, in its fourth edition, due to the success of past editions
The workshops have the objective of transmitting to the small inhabitants of the municipality, our most remote origins.
It is about awakening their curiosity through activities appropriate to their age.
A workshop where the children will become troglodytes and will move 50,000 years ago, from the hand of the Neanderthal Woman "Paloma", who will talk about the first settlers of Torre Pacheco, transmitting the importance of our heritage.
The activity will begin with a guided tour in the exhibition "The Fat Cabezo: The Neanderthal Mountain", where they will be explained how the Neanderthal Man lived, how he hunted, how he managed to build a fire and where he lived, as well as showing them the most important findings have been obtained in the Sima de las Palomas, and in this way learn the characteristics of Neanderthal Man.
In addition, they will create their own "pica-piedra" costume and will be able to dig in "El Cajón del Pequeño Arqueólogo", finding numerous treasures.
After this visit, the workshop will be held following the Neanderthal theme, coloring a mammoth, creating a fire, making a cave mural and Neanderthal clothing, and participating in the Neanderthal Storytelling, all accompanied by a Neanderthal actress called "Paloma", who will tell you their cave experiences in the Sima de las Palomas.
Workshops will be held on July 3, 17, 30 and August 7, from 10 am to 12 am.
The workshop is aimed at children from 4 to 10 years old and is totally free.
