The City Council of Torre Pacheco and the company Iberdrola sign a one-year contract to provide electricity and public lighting to the municipality, for an amount of 1,396,353.44 euros, renewable for another year.
The company Iberdrola has been the chosen one, in public bidding, to guarantee the electrical supply to the municipal facilities, as well as the public lighting of the municipality of Torre Pacheco.
The mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León and the commercial manager of Iberdrola clients, Iciar Pérez Lledó, signed the contract on Wednesday, June 19, at the Torre Pacheco City Hall.
León stressed that it is the third year that this Consistory is committed to the public bidding model, thus guaranteeing the free competition of companies that want to participate in these open processes.
Iberdrola will be the manager of the electricity supply, after presenting the best offer and provision of services, a considerable economic saving for all citizens, economic and energy efficiency for the municipality.
As a novelty with respect to the previous contract, all the energy supplied to the supply points of the Torre Pacheco City Council comes exclusively from renewable sources.
León has reiterated that the company will provide 100% renewable energy for the consumption of municipal facilities, highlighting the Consistory's commitment to sustainable development and protecting the environment.
