On Saturday, June 29, the last Plenary Session of the Municipal Council for Children and Adolescents of the school year was held in the Plenary Hall of the City Council of Torre Pacheco.

The event, chaired by Laureano Ros Bleda, student of the Center Concerted Virgin of the Pasico, was attended by the Councilor for Citizen Participation and Transparency, María Valentina López Martínez, along with the 2nd Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Finance and Communication, Carlos López Martínez, Councilor for Environment and Heritage, José Vera Garre, the Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Raúl Lledó Saura, the Councilor for Social Services, María José López Fernández, and the Councilor for Sports and Health, Oscar Montoya Almagro.

In this Plenary session, their term ends as Counselors 15 of the 28 children that make up the Board because they have exercised their responsibility to represent their colleagues during the two years established by the Board Regulations, or they finish 6th Primary or 2nd. of ESO:

Héctor Jorquera Gómez, of the IES Gerardo Molina, Abel Pérez Guillén and María Cánovas manzanares, of the IES Sabina Mora, Chaimae Lakrid, of the IES Luis Manzanares, Alejandro Cegarra García and Mikias Sánchez Carrillo, of the Pasico II center, Francisco Javier Martínez García, of the school Hernández Ardieta, Africa García Roca, from El Alba school, Ainhoa ​​Meroño Martínez, from CRA Entretierras, Pedro Torres García, from Nuestra Señora del Rosario school, Ángela Lozano del Amor, from Fontes school, Mª del Pilar Soria Barbero, from Garre Alpáñez school , and Gael Pérez Bineau, from the Nuestra Señora de los Dolores center.

The members of the Council gave an account of the response offered by the councils of Education and Social Services to the recommendations and proposals to prevent and address the problem of bullying or bullying, as agreed by the Council in the Plenary on March 2.

Then, the girls and boys of the Council debated and approved seven of the eight proposals taken to the Plenary to prevent and fight against discrimination based on ethnicity, gender, religion or sexual orientation, proposals that had previously been agreed by their peers in each of Educational Centers of Torre Pacheco:

· "Develop play activities to raise awareness against discrimination in the municipality";

· "Train young people in sign language to prevent discrimination against deaf people";

· "Prevention of discrimination through specific talks and workshops";

· "Elimination of physical barriers for people with functional diversity";

· "Design of posters and murals to prevent discrimination";

· "Creation of a support and support group for victims of discrimination";

· "Promotion of cultural and religious diversity present in the municipality".

These seven proposals will be presented also this week on the website of citizen participation of the Torre Pacheco City Council.

Next, the Councilors chose by majority "animal welfare" as a topic to be addressed by children in schools during the first trimester of the 2019-2020 academic year.

Once the problems and suggestions for improvement on this issue have been discussed and agreed upon in each Center, the main proposals will be presented and voted on at the next Council Plenary, which will take place between the months of October and November.
