The Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León and the President of the Dolores de Pacheco Pensioners Association, Teodoro Vera, have signed an agreement whereby they commit to collaborate in the promotion of activities with seniors in the town.
The purpose of the agreement is the granting of a subsidy for its program of activities, whose economic amount amounts to € 3,700.-.
In addition to this economic subsidy, from the Department of Social Services, it collaborates with the Association through the organization of cultural and recreational activities, sports, health, and above all with the management, information and advice on issues of interest to greater.
The Pensioners Association was created in 1982 and currently has about 350 members and a large and varied program of activities throughout the year.
The Mayor, accompanied by the Councilor for Equality and Seniors, Verónica Martínez, and the Councilor for Education, Paco Sáez after the signing of the agreement, have held a meeting with the board of the Pensioners Club, to learn first-hand their needs and demands .
