The Mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León, and the Councilor for Social Services and Equality, Verónica Martínez, have held a meeting with the board of the Pensioners Club of El Jimenado, which was also attended by Councilor for Urban Planning and Agriculture, and neighbor from El Jimenado, Alberto Galindo.
The Mayor and the President of the Association, Leonardo Jiménez, have signed an agreement by means of which they undertake to collaborate in the promotion of activities with adults in the locality.
The purpose of this agreement is the granting of a nominative grant for the maintenance of the activities of the Pensioners and Retirees Club "Virgen de la Consolación" of El Jimenado.
The economic contribution of this agreement amounts to € 1,700.-.
In addition to this economic subsidy, from the Department of Social Services, it collaborates with the Association through the organization of cultural and recreational activities, sports, health, and especially with the management, information and advice on issues of interest to greater.
The Pensioners Association of El Jimenado, the youngest in the municipality has been operating since 1996, and currently has about 400 members, being located in the Multi-purpose Center of this town.
