The Councilor for Equality, Verónica Martínez highlighted the importance of training for the Volunteer of the Violet Point, so before the holidays a "Training Days: Volunteering in Violet Points" organized by the CAVAX (Prevention and Care Service) Integral to victims of assaults and / or sexual abuse of the CARM) and in which police, private security and civil protection volunteers participated.
Martínez reiterated that intervention in these areas requires training and sensitivity, together with the coordination of police and health services, among others.
The training, free and with a duration of 3 hours, was given by a psychologist and social educator who, in a practical way, focused on defining a violet point, giving action guidelines in case of abuse and / or sexual assault, attention to these and differentiation of the criminal types that exist.
The "Violet Points" are spaces, of sensitization, to attend, inform and help the victims, with the objective of raising awareness of the population that it is really an aggression or a situation of harassment, as well as reassuring and accompanying the victim in If any occur.
In addition, the Councilor, stressed that the Violet Points, are intended to meet an increasingly visible social need: situations of harassment and sexual violence.
He also thanked the financing of these activities thanks to the State Pact promoted by the Government of Spain, providing resources to the Regional and Local Administration for the implementation of this type of Campaigns.
