The President of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation informs the mayors about the actions planned to minimize damage from torrential rains.
The mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León Garre, attends the meeting convened at the Segura Hydrographic Confederation, where the special treatment that the Basin of the Campo de Cartagena basin will have was exposed, given the problems and damages that are generated in the episodes of torrential rains.
For this reason, the Rambla de El Albujón is going to be resized and the Rambla de La Maraña delimited, so that they can properly channel all runoff that occurs in their field.
These actions and others in the Region of Murcia will involve an investment of 25 million euros in the short term.
The CHS also demands that the Autonomous Community, as the heir of the extinct IRYDA, reconstitute the extensive drainage network and drainage channels in the Campo de Cartagena, infrastructure carried out 40 years ago and that has been phased out, with lack of cleanliness in the few channels that have not yet disappeared.
The Mayor reminded the Minister of Development of the lack of bridges in the secondary road network of the municipality of Torre Pacheco, as this causes the flooding of these roads and the lack of definition of the stream channels that cross them.
It has also revealed to the CHS the recovery of the rainwater diversion project that enters the nuclei of Torre Pacheco and Roldán taking advantage of the variants of both populations.
