The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'ZABEN', an investigation aimed at locating and detaining a young man who had assaulted two people in the municipality of Torre Pacheco to take their belongings, which has resulted in the arrest of a dangerous and elusive criminal who is credited with the alleged authorship of the crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation, theft and resistance and disobedience to law enforcement officials.
One of the victims is a young child.
The investigation began last September, when the Civil Guard was aware of a robbery with violence and intimidation committed against a minor, a child who was riding a bicycle on the public highway of Torre Pacheco and was approached by a subject that, after threatening him with a large knife and holding him so he could not continue the march, he stole the money he was carrying.
These events generated social alarm among the residents of the municipality due to the young age of the child.
As the investigation progressed, the Benemérita learned of another case, which occurred in the same municipality, whose author coincided with the physiognomy of the first.
This time the victim was in a public establishment in Torre Pacheco when he was approached from behind by an individual who threw him abruptly to the ground until he snatched his wallet, with which he fled the place.
The citizen was injured in the back and arms.
Days later, this same subject approached another neighbor inside a public establishment, while he was making some purchases, and stole, without noticing, a bank card where he kept cash.
The information obtained by the civil guards allowed to focus the investigation on a young man, of sub-Saharan origin, who was known to be wandering around the town and lacked a known address.
This individual also had a police record for crimes of the same nature, not in vain, recently he had been arrested by the Civil Guard as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with violence and intimidation in the same town.
Since that date, the Benemérita had been on her trail, although her extensive criminal baggage made him elusive and agile when it came to committing the assaults and fleeing.
The Civil Guard initiated a series of search devices that made it possible to verify that the young offender changed location almost daily to hide in uninhabited homes in the municipality for short periods of time.
In one of these devices, a Citizen Security Prevention patrol located it, at which point the young man undertook his escape on foot while being followed by the agents.
After more than ten minutes of running, the suspect was reached and arrested.
In that act he resisted violently and tried to get rid of the civil guards, not succeeding.
The alleged perpetrator of the crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation (2), theft and of resistance and disobedience to agents of the authority is attributed to the arrested man, of Moroccan nationality and 26 years.
The detainee and the proceedings have been made available to the Court of Instruction of San Javier (Murcia), who has ordered his entry into pretrial detention.
