The current European champions and former League champions, STV Roldán FSF, have visited the Florette facilities in Valderas and Torre-Pacheco this morning.
Thus, they have been able to know first-hand the daily work of Florette farmers in the area, where they have outdoor crops for the production of adult lettuce (iceberg, escarole, radicchio ...) and protected crops, reserved for the most varieties delicate, the first shoots (arugula, sorrel, spinach sprout ...).
In this event in support of sport and local agriculture, the players were very interested in the practices of sustainability in the field and respect for the different rhythms of natural growth of each plant.
A thorough job since Florette grows more than 60 varieties of lettuce and first sprouts in the region.
"It is impressive the daily work behind each salad. Many professionals that certainly make it very easy for us to eat healthy despite the rush of everyday life," says Mayte Mateo, captain of the STV Roldan FSF.
After the visit to the crops, the team had the opportunity to attend the process of preparing salads at the Florette production center in Torre-Pacheco.
A fast and modern process in which in just 15 minutes the freshly collected raw material turns into fresh salads washed, cut and packaged, ready to consume.
Florette is one of the sponsors of the STV Roldán FSF women's futsal team.
A collaboration framed within 'Florette Commitment', through which the reference brand in fresh packaged vegetables carries out initiatives that have a positive impact on its closest areas of activity, as is the case in the Region of Murcia.
Since its inception, Florette has developed its activity in Murcia through collaboration with local farmers that, since 2009, was increased by adding its own agricultural production.
Today, the area has become key for Florette, the second in importance after Navarra, where its headquarters are located.
Today, Florette employs 600 professionals in Murcia, between direct and indirect jobs, and has 1,100 hectares of adult lettuce cultivation and first shoots in the area.
The visit of the players and the technical staff of STV Roldán FSF to the Florette crops, also attended the mayor of Torre-Pacheco, Antonio León, the Councilor for Sports, Oscar Montoya, and the Councilor for Personnel and Contracting, María del Carmen Guillen
Florette Iberian has its origin in the Navarre company Vega Mayor founded in 1988. In 2001 the launch of the Florette brand takes place and today it is the main producer and marketer of our country in the category of IV range: salads and fresh vegetables, washed, cut and ready to consume.
It cultivates more than 60 varieties of raw material and develops its activity in 7 regions of the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands with an annual production of 50,000 tons of raw material.
All lettuce and vegetables are grown respecting the environment and its natural growth, without hurry.
In addition, it collaborates with local farmers to bring the best fresh produce from the field to the table.
Florette is supported by 6 production centers throughout the Spanish geography: Arguedas (Navarra), Milagro (Navarra), Noblejas (Toledo), Iniesta (Cuenca), Torre Pacheco (Murcia) and Ingenio (Canary Islands).
All Florette products are fully grown and processed in our country, marketed daily in 14,000 points of sale in Spain and Portugal and are present in more than 13,000 restaurants.
Through 'Florette Commitment', the company allocates part of its annual investment to initiatives aimed at "helping people eat better" ranging from environmental practices and economic management to social impact initiatives.
