The rehabilitation works of the Senior Center and extension to Balsicas Day Center, began in early November and have an investment of € 488,000.
The mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León, accompanied by members of the Municipal Corporation, and seniors of the town, visited the remodeling works of the Center for the Elderly, and future Center for Daytime Stays, a work much demanded by the residents of Balsicas since years ago, and it will be completed in the coming months.
León pointed out that it is a project that is highly demanded by citizens and that it was resumed in 2016, after having been paralyzed, modifying the initial idea, with a new project, rehabilitating the Senior Center and expanding the area to put Balsicas Day Center is underway.
In addition, he highlighted the work of the construction company, which is working to try to get this work completed as soon as possible.
Reiterating once again the importance of the Day Center and Center for Seniors of Balsicas, thanking the Association of Seniors of Balsicas for their involvement, and collaboration with the City Council, supporting and advising to make this center a reality.
The municipal architect and director of the works, Teresa Talaya, explained that the project has mainly consisted of the rehabilitation of the existing building and an extension to house the Day Center;
a space, so that the elderly can spend the day, and be treated, with physiotherapy, nursing, podiatry, dining room, games room, gerontogimnasia services, in short, new spaces to contribute to the quality of life of the elderly, in a new building that will go from the existing 480 meters to about 870 square meters.
