Today, November 20, marks the Universal Children's Day, established in commemoration of the adoption, on November 20, 1989, of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the United Nations General Assembly.
Among the rights and obligations contemplated in the Convention, the right of children to freely express their opinions is recognized and that they are taken into account in all matters that affect them.
Within this framework, from the Department of Citizen Participation and Transparency of the City of Torre Pacheco, several activities are organized during these days with the children of Torre Pacheco.
Yesterday, the preparatory meeting of the next Plenary Session of the Municipal Council for Children and Adolescents was held in the municipal library, which will take place on Saturday, November 30.
In this meeting the children who represent all the children of the municipality were able to discuss and deliberate on the central issue of this Plenary, Animal Welfare.
The proposals that are approved by the majority of members of the Council will be sent to the competent organ of the City Council so that they are valued and incorporated, where appropriate, to the local political agenda.
On the other hand, on Wednesday the second meeting of the Youth Motor Group of the Youth Participatory Budget of Torre Pacheco takes place in Roldán, in which about twenty young people will coordinate the dissemination strategy and collection of proposals that will take place the next days in the Centers of Secondary of the municipality.
Massive participation of all young people between 14 and 18 years is expected, contributing their ideas to improve the lives of the residents of the municipality.
In addition, from the Department of Culture, the IV Festival of Solidarity Magic has been organized, which is held on Sunday, December 1 at the Center for Performing Arts, in which one more year the best magicians on the national scene will transport the spectators to world of the incredible.
A Magic Gala, commemorating the International Day of the Rights of the Child and in which those interested in attending must withdraw their entry, providing non-perishable food, which will go to Caritas Parish of Torre Pacheco.
