The Department of Social Services, of the City Council of Torre Pacheco, will be responsible for delivering school supplies to the neediest families in our municipality

The City of Torre Pacheco hosted the delivery of the material by the Track & Field Sport Team Sports Club, the result of a solidarity initiative, a solidarity auction, with objects donated by elite athletes, for those affected by the floods last September 13 , from the municipalities of Torre Pacheco, Los Alcázares, San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar.

An event that was attended by the Councilor for Social Services, Maria José López, the Councilor for Sports, Oscar Montoya, the president of the Track and Field Sport Team Club, Gustavo Torres, the sports director, Juan A. Gatón, as well as Club members.

The Councilor for Social Services, María José López, reiterated once again the gratitude to the Club for this initiative, pointing out that the school material will go to the neediest families in the municipality, and graduated, the effort and work that involved, putting in the chain of favors, valuing the involvement of all Club members, highlighting the awareness and solidarity of this Sports Club, with the needs of the residents of the municipality.

For his part, the president of the Club, Gustavo Torres highlighted the support of the City Council of Torre Pacheco, in this project, pointing out that the Club tries to unite the sport with solidarity, with different acts and events, in addition, transmitted that the members of the Club They are very happy with the result and with the reception of the municipalities involved.

An initiative, as Gatón said, which includes the 4 municipalities most affected by DANA, informing that the money raised amounts to 4,300 euros that has been allocated equally to the departments of Social Services of the different municipalities.

Finally, Montoya, thanked for this great initiative and said that on November 22 at the Sports Gala in Torre Pacheco, an act will be given to deliver the money raised, reiterating once again the solidarity received and highlighted the great work done the Track & Field Sport Team Sports Club, thanking this initiative.
