An act chaired by the mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio Léon, accompanied by the Councilor for Sports, Oscar Montoya, and members of the Municipal Corporation, which was also attended by the Director General of Sports, Fran Sánchez, as well as, the Councilors for Sports of the municipalities of San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and Los Alcázares, and presidents of Federations of the Region of Murcia, among other authorities.
With the aim of rewarding the effort and sacrifice of the most prominent athletes in the municipality of Torre Pacheco, this awards ceremony is organized annually, organized by the Department of Sports, of the City of Torre Pacheco.
A recognition to athletes, coaches and collaborating companies, which during 2018, obtained great sports results, as well as collaborations with athletes and events.
An event scheduled for September 13 and that had to be postponed by the terrible floods that devastated our region.

A gala to promote sports and value work and dedication, a way to promote grassroots sports, and publicize the different sports that can be practiced in our municipality;
So, almost twenty sports were represented by the youngest and accompanied the Councilor for Sports, Oscar Montoya, in his welcome speech, where he highlighted, the values, benefits and everything that brings us to do a sport, thanking the work of clubs their work and dedication, pointing out that "sport is the best tool to educate future generations and that all educators in the sports world have a responsibility to teach the value of losing, defeat and falling so that those situations become opportunities to improve, in learning situations that forge people capable of facing any situation in this changing society in which we live. "
The third Sports Gala scheduled for the month of September had to be suspended due to the floods that ravaged our region, the DANA made this recognition act postponed in September, once again leading the event.
This time for the solidarity of a Sports Club, based in San Javier, but with members of Torre Pacheco, and region, the Track and Field Sport Team Club.
4,300 euros for those affected by DANA, thanks to an auction of objects donated by prominent athletes in the country, an initiative that emerged from this club and that was carried out through the official Facebook page of the Track and Field Club, raising a total of 4,300 euros, which the Club has delivered to the departments of Social Services of the City Councils of Torre Pacheco, San Javier, San Pedro and Los Alcázares.
