In November Torre Pacheco has commemorated the International Day of Disability, the Department of Social Services and the Prometheus Associations, AIDEMAR, D'GENES Working Group DYRK 1A, and AFAL Cartagena and Comarca, have come together to make visible and raise awareness in society .
The mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León and the Councilor for Social Services, María José López, accompanied by members of the Municipal Corporation and representatives of Associations working for disability in the municipality of Torre Pacheco, have closed an extensive program of activities for raise awareness about the social integration of people with physical and organic disabilities, equal rights and opportunities, as well as non-discrimination and the importance of living without barriers, not only architectural, but also mental.
López, highlighted and valued this initiative to give visibility and promote the social integration of people with disabilities, in which for the first time all the Associations of the Municipality and the City of Torre Pacheco have joined, joining efforts and working for well-being Of all our neighbors.
"A World for All", a month to make visible and raise awareness of society about Disability, ended on December 9 with a day of coexistence in the Plaza Mayor Pedro Jiménez of Torre Pacheco, with a reading of a manifesto prepared by the Associations participants, and with musical performances.
During this month:
DYRK1A, carried out, informative activities, as well as awareness raising with exhibitions, talks and workshops.
The Prometheus Association, carried out activities among which stand out, exhibitions, gastronomic workshops, and talks.
The AIDEMAR Association, programmed various activities, healthy days and coexistence between associations, awareness activities in educational centers and exhibitions.
AFAL Cartagena and Comarca, carried out awareness activities, informative conferences, exhibitions and campaigns in secondary education centers.
And finally, last Monday, December 9, all the Associations participated in a day of coexistence, in the Plaza Mayor Pedro Jiménez, with manifest reading, musical performances and informative stands of Aidemar, Prometeo, D'genes, DYRK work group 1st and AFAL Cartagena and Region.
