One more year, the Argos program is launched in Torre Pacheco, an educational program for the prevention of problems related to the consumption of alcoholic beverages, from the General Directorate of Public Health and Addictions, in collaboration with the City of Torre Pacheco, Health Centers and Secondary Education Centers.
The program aimed at young people of 1st and 2nd ESO, consists of the development of three didactic units, which are carried out in the educational center and in the reference Health Center of each institute.
The Argos program has been carried out in the municipality of Torre Pacheco since 2013, in order to raise awareness of the risks associated with drug use, such as driving vehicles, teenage pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, effects on the organism , as well as identify situations of group pressure in relation to drug use.
In addition, this program aims to get students to reflect on the different views established socially around the consumption of alcohol and cannabis.
The Councilor for Social Services, María José López accompanied by members of the Municipal Corporation, presented the activities that are carried out within the ARGOS Program during this school year, noting that the program is framed in the School Program of the Municipal Drug Prevention Plan , in which IES Gerardo Molina, Virgen del Pasico I, Our Lady of Sorrows, IES Sabina Mora and Virgen del Pasico II participate;
as well as the East and West Health Centers of the municipality of Torre Pacheco.
In addition, the Ministry of Health through the Addiction Coordination Unit of the General Directorate of Public Health and Addictions, in coordination with the Department of Social Services of the City of Torre Pacheco, develop the online course aimed at parents "Prevent from small ", for the prevention of alcohol consumption in children.
"If you doubt it, do not hesitate", a campaign launched on the occasion of the celebration of World AIDS Day, was also carried out in secondary schools last December.
