The Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment, through the managing director of the Regional Sanitation and Purification Entity (ESAMUR), Ignacio Díaz, today obtained the commitment of the mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León, to take the municipal plenary session on January 30 the provision of the precise land for the construction of the environmental tank and the rolling mill of the municipal sewage plant, which will prevent the discharge of water from the municipal sanitation network to the Rambla del Albujón when produce episodes of heavy rains.
At a meeting held today at the City Council of Torre Pacheco, it was agreed that this step be urgently needed, once the Autonomous Community awarded last November 6 the construction of a 6,000 m3 storm tank and a rolling raft with Storage capacity of 60,000 m3, to mitigate the effects of torrential rains and address their subsequent treatment, which will prevent the discharge of stormwater directly to the Albujón watercourse.
To start the execution of the project, of which Arpo Empresa Constructora SA is awarded, with an execution period of 12 months and a budget of about 3.5 million euros, it is necessary that the City of Torre Pacheco provide the certificate of availability of the land.
The future infrastructure will derive water to the environmental tank through a casket that has a 10 cm thick sandpit and grating.
At the entrance to the environmental tank there is a fine sieve with a capacity of 7,200 m3 / h and a dump cleaning system.
The rolling raft has a reinforced concrete floor for mechanical cleaning and an EDAR discharge system of 1 + 1 pumps for the treatment of stored water.
