The councilor of Celebrations, Yolanda Castaño has presented the poster and the program of events of the Carnival 2020, accompanied by Juan José Vera, author of the poster and Pedro Cegarra, representative of the Festival Committee.
The mayor of Torre Pacheco, Antonio León and members of the Municipal Corporation have attended the presentation ceremony held in the Press Room of the Torre Pacheco City Hall.
For the fourth consecutive year and after the success of past editions, Torre Pacheco prepares to enjoy Carnival, with news and a greater number of acts in this edition.
On Friday, February 28, at the Civic Center of Torre Pacheco, at 10 pm, Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma will be chosen, the second edition of this original competition in which this year, all those who wish to participate over 16 years old
In addition, as a novelty, the first edition of Gala Drag Queen will be held, on Sunday, March 1, at 6 pm in the local Civic Center, a musical show, with Drag Queens contest, with prizes for the three winners of 800, 400 and 200 euros.
On Saturday, March 7, in the morning at the Town Hall Square, the Children's Carnival party will be held, with shows and costumes, for the whole family, starting at 12 noon.
The IV Carnival Parade Contest of Torre Pacheco, will take place on March 7 starting at 6:00 p.m., and parading more than 30 parades, from all corners of the region;
Comparsas that will fill another year, the streets of the town, fantasy, music, light, color, costumes and a lot of rhythm.
The councilor of Celebrations has wanted to thank the dozens of comparsas their request for participation, but for organizational reasons and not to extend the parade longer than recommended, it will be necessary to make a selection.
A contest that aims to encourage and value the work of the comparsas of the municipality of Torre Pacheco, so there will be a first prize for the best Local Comparsa and a first prize for the best Foreign Comparsa, endowed with 1,000 euros, a second of 500 euros , and a third prize of 300 euros, and whose delivery will be made at the end of the parade in the Plaza del Torre Pacheco City Hall, with a Carnival Party for all residents and visitors who want to continue enjoying the Fiesta.
"With this program we want to settle the Carnival in Torre Pacheco, and increase the success of the previous years," said the councilor of Celebrations.
Juan José Vera author of the poster, explained that everything has been done with digital techniques and bright colors, showing the Venetian Carnival through the costume of the protagonist;
a cat dressed as a person, chosen according to Vera, to give it more strength, pointing out that the cat, is his pet and that represents the mischievousness, mischief, elements very typical of this party, and that shows us a poster, very striking and that invites to live the Carnival in Torre Pacheco.
Finally, Yolanda Castaño has invited all the neighbors and visitors to enjoy the Carnival of Torre Pacheco.
