The facilities will soon host the courses for the development of the figure of the Agro-Environmental Operator that includes the Decree Law of Integral Protection of the Mar Menor
The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Environment, Antonio Luengo, visited this morning the facilities of the Integrated Center for Training and Agricultural Experiences, CIFEA, of Torre Pacheco and announced that during the month of April the new programs of Training and technology transfer.
A training "aimed at agricultural workers in the Field of Cartagena, to influence measures that contribute to reducing the pressures suffered by the Mar Menor, and that makes available to you all the knowledge and experience of CIFEA professionals," said Antonio Luengo
During this month the training program will be finished, which includes actions that provide farmers and ranchers with the necessary knowledge to adapt their actions to compliance with the law, as well as the use of new technologies and innovation applied to their crops or holdings.
An example of this will be projects related to hydroponics, installation of humidity sensors, hedges and plant covers on farms, or the use of fertilizers with little or no nitrogen supply in the crops.
"We talk about techniques that mix innovation and precision with the quality of the resulting products, which allow us to have qualified agriculture and livestock, which uses only the necessary resources and is committed to sustainability and environmental care" the advisor added.
To this training will be added shortly the courses for the development of the figure of the Agro-Environmental Operator that includes the Decree Law of Integral Protection of the Mar Menor and that must guarantee the compliance of the norm in all the farms.
"In this way, our goal of converting the CIFEA of Torre Pacheco into a reference center for training and advice of the agricultural and livestock sectors in the Mar Menor environment, focused on the environmental recovery of this unique space," concluded Antonio Luengo
