As of Royal Decree Law 8/2020, extraordinary credits have been generated from the central government to address the social needs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, assigning a total amount of 9,284 to the Region of Murcia and all its municipalities. .806 euros.
As explained in the Royal Decree Law and in the credit distribution agreement, these have been generated in order to guarantee and reinforce the Basic Benefits of Social Services to carry out urgent and extraordinary measures aimed at exclusively to face extraordinary situations derived from COVID-19.
These contributions have been managed by the Regional Government, which will be in charge of entering the funds into the different municipalities according to technical and population criteria.
In the case of the municipality of Torre Pacheco, it will receive a total of 145,152 euros identified on the basis of the 'Report on the situation of the Social Services of Primary Care in the context of a state of alarm due to COVID-19'.
"This economic contribution may be added to the actions carried out with the own budget, and that the Department of Social Services is already undertaking," said the Councilor for Finance, Carlos López, who has stated that "both the economic area and the area They are focusing their efforts on making all funds available as soon as possible. "
The budget for this action must go to financial support for families with difficulties affected by COVID.
Likewise, these resources may generate emergency aid to meet basic needs caused by COVID, such as financial aid for food, follow-up milk, medications, essential basic receipt payments and personal support.
Finally, it will also be destined to adopt home support measures for the most vulnerable people, as well as having the incorporation of professionals to support the management of basic benefits for reasons of sick leave and new care.
